Army Chief as a Chairman...

Can you imagine the current army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed as the Chairman of a public company? Yes, it's possible only in Bangladesh. Army chief, Moeen U Ahmed is now the chairman of a public company. Recently the bank he is chairman of, Trust Bank, went public on Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Markets. His brother is the Managing Director of the bank and draws 5.5 lakh taka as salary per month. Read the IPO prospectus here for the Trust Bank. The question is - can a sitting military chief be the chairman of a public company?

Yes, it is Bangladesh where everything is possible. General people understand everything but cannot have say. The question is how an army chief become a chairman of a public limited company because a govt servant cannot have other job while in serving in the govt. Secondly army chief cannot make any political comment while he has been doing so. Do the people of Bangladesh pay taxes for this kind of activities against the rules of the state?
