Rumors on Terrorism Conference

Terrorism issue holds huge political implications for the USA and Bangladesh. We have seen unprecedented rise of fundamentalist and terrorist outfits in Bangladesh during the BNP-Jamat alliance in power. Now, an upcoming terrorism conference in the Capitol HIll initiated by the Bangladeshi Expatriates in the USA has drawn huge media attention. Khabor, an Internet news outlet from the DC metro area has provided the coverage of this upcoming conference that will be participated by Lt. General Masud Uddin Chowdhury along with distinguished US Congressmen. There are some rumors floating in the electronic discussion group about a possible deal for some corrupt businessmen in this conference!! We're entertaining this information for folks who'll join there next week to spell out its validity.

The purpose behind this conference was highlighted in the Khabor discussion group that needs to be checked out:
As you know that "Anti-Terrorism" is a hot item to sell to the US Law makers and administration. Bangladesh officials are also linning up with the same slogan to please US and European governments.

Two current and one former Congressmen invited Gen Masud Uddin Chowdhury in writing. These Congressmen were made understood that Gen. Masud was and is the power behind this government.

As news spreaded that more than hundred thousands US dollars are bieng raised for this seminar. DO YOU KNOW WHO ARE THE CONTRIBUTORS?

There are rumors that Salah Uddin Quader Chowdhury's close relative Mr. Mannan and Bashundhara' s Chairman Shah Alam are already in Washington, DC. They might be on the stage along with the dozens of Congressmen, US officials of Homeland Security and State Department and Gen. Masud. Congressmen might request Gen. Masud to release Salah Uddin Quader Chowdhury and withdraw cases against Bashundhara Chairman Shah Alam.

As you know that Congressman Joseph Crowley wrote a letter to the Lt. Gen (Rtd) Hasan Masud Chowdhury, Chairman of ACC for being considerate to the Bashundhara Chairman Shah Alam back in May or June, 2007. Congressman Joseph Crowley told us when we went to see him along with Shahriar Kabir last August. He expressed his anger that ACC chairman blasted him back for his letter written for Shah Alam. I doubt Gen. Masud will be that much open to public.
We're waiting to see from the political observers and journalists about what surprises unfold in this upcoming conference!!!

Hey, I won't be surprised if they settle with the corrupt businessmen. Their corrupt practices are already coming to surface. Starting example: General Moeen's Trust Bank scam. I am sure Masud would be worried too. He is no DHOA TULSHI PATA, either.

You're absolutely right. We need to be aware of this reality that Bangladesh is going to follow Pakistani General's footstep.

I want to eliminate terrorisms from Bangladesh. Terrorism is a cancer in our society. Such international counter terrorism seminar is always a positive step to eliminate terrorism globally. But I do not support any persons to finance such seminar who might expect personal benefits out of it, especially, those who are on trial or punished by the laws in Bangladesh, if there is something like that.
